Last weekend the Scotland squad travelled to south London for training matches against Trojans KC, who are competing for the English National League title in the playoffs this weekend. The trip was part of an intensive training schedule in preparation for the European Korfball Championship qualifying tournament in Slovakia in June. Scotland will face Serbia and Germany in the pool stage of this 7 team tournament, with the top 2 teams qualifying for the European Championship in the Netherlands in October.
Coach Johan Oosterling is keen for the players to develop by playing against strong opponents, and is also taking the squad to Papendrecht to compete against PKC, one of the largest and most successful clubs in the Netherlands. In addition the squad are training in Edinburgh on the 8th, 22nd and 29th May. Any SKA members involved in coaching at club level are invited to attend the 8th May session to observe coaching style and technique.
