Best experience playing for Scotland?
Every time I’ve worn the Scotland kit is a special moment for me whether it be playing at European Qualifiers, the u-23 World Cup, or playing in exhibition matches. The amount of development within Scottish korfball over my career has been staggering and to be part of that at the highest level has been an honour. Scoring goals against Benelux opposition in particular is always pleasing.
How long have you played korfball?
First memory playing korfball?
A fresher’s session with far too many people in the hall shooting into wicker baskets! Seems to have worked though as I’ve stuck with it.
What are your hopes for yourself and for Scotland in future:
I hope to raise my game and help spur on the team to take the next step in our development for the forthcoming European qualifiers with the long term goal to achieve qualification for the World Championships. We have a great bunch of players in the squad and through training we will improve both our individual and collective levels.
What would you say to encourage people to play korfball:
It’s a sport that has a very strong sense of community and fun. Also due to the fledgling nature of the sport in Scotland players can experience a variety of levels including high-performance and international level within a comparatively short period of time compared to other sports. The opportunities to travel are also a nice benefit.
Do you play any other sports: I am a competitive bowler and keen skier. I also try and fit in swimming, tennis and golf when I can.
Star sign: Twice as nice- Gemini the twins.
