Kyle on:

“I have been playing for Scotland for 6.5 years, during which time I have proudly represented my country at several competitions including 2 x European Championship qualifiers, 2 x European Championships, 3 x Inter-Area competitions as well as captained Scotland at the U23 World Championships.”

Edinburgh Uni and his international debut

“I began playing korfball at Edinburgh University in 2008 and stayed there for several years due to fear of the real world. I moved up through the teams, became 1st team captain and eventually player/coach. I made my international debut in 2009 at the European Championship qualifiers in Luxembourg where I received the nickname “Von Crom” due to a spelling mistake in the tournament pack.”

“In 2013 I moved to Newcastle where I started coaching at Northern Storm. We won promotion to the SKL 1st Division in our first year in the SKL and I look forward to many years of success with my North East Korfball family.”

On being made Scotland captain

“Being made captain is a huge honour and one that I will respect and give everything to live up to. I aim to be a leader for the team both on and off the court, represent Scotland and the SKA and give as much support as I can to my team mates, especially the innocent newbies. I am very excited about the journey ahead for the whole squad and how this will benefit Scottish Korfball.”
